1. What is Prostate Px?
Prostate Px is a new test, that at diagnosis, can help assess the severity of your prostate cancer.

2. What are the benefits of Prostate Px?
Prostate Px was designed to help doctors properly identify which patients are at high risk and which are at low risk for aggressive disease. Using this information, doctors and patients can work together to choose the most informed prostate cancer treatment options.

3. How does Prostate Px work?
Prostate Px is the first and only test that combines information from cellular, molecular, and clinical data with advanced mathematics to deliver a thorough and accurate picture of your individual risk.

4. Do I need to undergo an additional biopsy to get my test results?
No additional laboratory visits or needle sticks are required from you.  A sample from the prostate cancer biopsy tissue your doctor used for your diagnosis is all we need.  Once your test is ordered, we will handle all the logistics to make sure we receive the sample of your biopsy tissue from the lab.

5. How is the Prostate Px test performed?
A sample of the prostate cancer biopsy tissue used for diagnosis is sent to Aureon’s specialized laboratory. No additional laboratory visits or needle sticks required on your part. Once at Aureon Laboratories, the samples are put through a rigorous analysis in which the absence or presence of certain characteristics (that are known to be important predictors of aggressive prostate disease) are identified.

6. How do I get the Prostate Px test?
Prostate Px can only be ordered by your physician. Prostate Px is currently only available in the United States.

7. Will the results of Prostate Px tell my doctor which treatments to use?
No. But combined with your other health information it allows you, your family and your doctor to make a more-informed decision about the types of treatment approaches you may select moving forward.

8. How long does it take to get the results from my Prostate Px test?
Results are available approximately five business days after your samples are received at Aureon Laboratories.
