Description:
We are looking for a highly-motivated, well-organized, technologist to support Pathologists in critical tasks needed for our clinical and scientific operations. The individual shall serve as an assistant to Aureon’s Pathology team and perform certain image processing tasks. Primarily, he/she shall be involved in the identification and electronic capture of digital images of tumor areas in immunofluorescence preparations of prostate tissue sections, guided by marked H&E-stained slides and under Pathologist supervision. In addition, he/she shall electronically outline the invasive tumor component in the resulting digital images. Other responsibilities shall include management of digital image files, trouble shooting and other tasks as needed. Excellent information management, time management, and verbal and written communication skills required.
Qualifications:
- A strong knowledge of histopathology is required.
- Must have experience or training in microscopic evaluation of slides, including dark-field (immunofluorescence) preparations.
- Must have a basic understanding of immunofluorescence microscopy.
- Experience with prostate tissue is preferred.
- A basic medical and clinical knowledge and vocabulary would be desirable
- Must be computer proficient with a PC and Windows environment.
- Competency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Notepad, and Outlook software.
- Must be able to interact well with others across multiple departments.
- Must be detail oriented and well organized.
This is a full-time position located in our Yonkers, New York office.
